CPAforum is a community for communication and collaboration relating to the CPA exams. The CPAforum community does not have a long list of fine print, but what we do have is not negotiable, so please respect our Community Rules. CPAforum may at any time, without notice and at our sole discretion, remove or edit any message for violating the following Community Rules.
As a member of the CPAforum community, you may not:
Post any content that is abusive, obscene, hateful, vulgar, fraudulent, threatening, harassing, defamatory, or which discloses private or personal matters concerning any person;
Post or transmit any material that you don’t have the right to transmit under law (such as copyright, trade secret or securities) or under contractual or fiduciary relationships (such as nondisclosure agreements);
Post offers to sell, offers to purchase, transmit, or link to any advertising, promotional materials, or other forms of solicitation. If in the judgement of the AF board or moderators, a member’s presence on AF or posting of hyperlinks, blog links, linked-in connections, etc. is primarily about revenue generation or to drive traffic to websites, the AF board and moderators reserve the right to take appropriate actions, which may include editing or deletion of such material, the deactivation of the user’s account, or any other action that the board deems appropriate. The posting of personal information such as linked-in profiles, etc. is discouraged, and will not be tolerated if, in the sole judgement of the board, such information is designed primarily for advertising, revenue generation, or drive web traffic for commercial activity.
Post or solicit email addresses;
Post or transmit information that is intentionally deceptive or deceitful;
Post, transmit, or link to sexually explicit or other objectionable material;
Impersonate any person, or falsely state or otherwise misrepresent your affiliation with a person or entity.
CPAforum reserves the right to edit, censor, delete content that - in its or its moderators judgement - detracts from the quality of the forum’s contents, particularly with discussions unrelated to topics in finance and financial exams. While CPAforum does make best efforts to be as open as possible to various topics, and does not - in principle - object to discussions on politics, social issues, travel, and topics posted for amusement, provided that they are placed in the appropriate forum sections, posts and/or threads that in our judgement are designed to be objectionable, rile up audiences, have little or no redeeming value, risk drowning out more useful discussions, or are likely to set inappropriate precedents may be edited or deleted without apology or explanation, and members who repeatedly post such topics may be censored or banned.
The acceptance of superficially similar threads does not indicate that we have relinquished our rights, as our decisions to edit or remove are often based on the context in which these threads are produced and read. In many cases, we may give certain questionable topics the benefit of the doubt initially, because while some topics may start out questionably appropriate, they can turn into useful or productive discussions in the response stream. This does not mean that the same topic will be acceptable under all circumstances and variations.
CPAforum and its moderators are under no obligation to explain the rationale for edits or deletes, but will often do so if - in its judgment - doing so is likely to improve the forum or reduce the likelihood of similar future issues.
